This 15.5x11.5cm kite shape tile is handmade to order from Margate ceramicist, Ema Dennis.
During the production, the clay is rolled out to 1cm thickness by hand. The pattern is embossed using a hand roller and the tiles are cut individually using a template. The tile is left to dry evenly for approximately 2 weeks, then put in the kiln for its first firing. Once cool, the kite is glazed and fired to 1,060 degrees Celsius. When the tile has cooled after its second firing, it is ready for installation.
As these tiles are individually handmade, there will naturally be variation between each tile of the same design.
These tiles are suitable for installation on all internal walls. These tiles are not suitable for flooring or submerged environments.
These tiles are available to purchase by the square metre.
We recommend purchasing 10% more than the required surface area to allow for wastage / breakages during install.
Once a purchase has been made, we will email a comprehensive installation and maintenance guide specific to glazed tiles to ensure your tiles are laid and maintained to our highest standards.
